Little hole added for a 2nd stereo in the back

Just got the same one as i put in the cab as its powerful enough, has Bluetooth and plays MP3's. Need new speakers as these are a mess and the left one has popped as its starting to vibrate.

Added another power socket at the battery cupboard. This lets me know the state of the leisure battery and the red numbers is the rear temperature. This will also be handy for running 12v lights in the awning.

Got another mat from the breakers. 40 quid delivered what is not bad as its not rotten like the one i took out. A wee bit soap and water it will be great once its worked its way flat again.

There are the bases from the single seats out the back of the minibus. The van only had one so had to buy the other. The cross beams are to narrow for my new seats

Vauxhall Corsa seats. The cross beams as well as being to short they are to tall as you see in this picture. That is almost 4" taller than standard and i have yet to put a swivel plate in. MY cross beams are running back to front here but i need to buy box section steel as there is to much side movement.

Seats in but temporarily. I like the driving height but as said i am yet to add swivel plates so.... Se the passenger seat frame. You will notice steel sticking out the side and drivers seat slightly higher. I was skip diving for box steel and had enough for the drivers and a bit L shaped steel for the passenger. I am hoping when i get swivel plates i will not need the cross beams and both seats will be the same height what will be about 2cm taller than the passenger one. I may also need to drill more mount holes in the floor so i put of getting load bearing plates also for under the floor. That will all get done at the same time. What i hope the last time.

As we were having a mini heatwave i decided to under seal the bus. Funny as i heat this up well and mixed yet it took to some panels better than others

I did do the sides of those beams BTW and when done i was mining being under the van all day. JOb needing done though

I also had a leak from a radiator hose. This was more a drip than a leak and sometimes it would be fine but annoying none the same. Took lower hose off and seen a couple of weak points so decided to replace it. Could not find any so looked at the LDV site, 53 bloody quid. Quick google tells me gaffa tape is watertight so went overkill and a few cable ties for good measure. Jobs a good un 👍

So i got the passenger swivel plate installed between the seat and base yesterday. I am still to bolt it up but its pashing doon outside so that can wait.

So started work on the drivers side. Keen eye will notice the base legs are squint. Reason being the plates are small and i had to add a few cm of steel to make it fit the base. I did not want to add one at the back to have possibly a weak point. Not that it matters much as the seat belt clasp is floor mounted.

Two cross beams over the plates bolted on so reach the seat runners then drill and bolt the runners down. Still need to bring the back rest forward a tad as the head rests hit the doors when swinging round, also need to drop the handbrake but i had to do that in the last van so no issue.

And this is how it will look with the table up. One sitting on the drivers seat and one on sofa to get two eating at the table. This is DVLA criteria so that is another boxed ticked.

If you were wondering how the bed works these pictures may ive a better idea as i had to fit some stays for the side that flips over today. This is the bed/bench seat

The lid lifts up to reveal the under seat storage where we will keep the bedding

Once you get the bedding out the lid lifts over in the other direction and you have a four foot wide double bed.

Today i was making the number plate area flush as mine was rusty beyond repair and no way would i get the stupid angles. Below is before and after.

I sheet of steel was going to cost me around £30 then postage. I bought a 2nd hand filing cabinet for                                         £10 and used that. Think it might be galvanised also.
