Next was to box in those seat bases. Plenty off cuts of wood in the shed so this was a free job.

I only did three sides as the fronts are left open to throw whatever under the seats. I shal put a strap of wood along bottom front to stop stuff rolling out under braking

Another job was the hand brake. It would rub the seat and scrape your fingers on the metal frame due to different seats being fitted. I read on Facebook someone failed an MOT due to this so i was taking not chances. The base has three mount bolts and the O/S has one to i put a few washers under the bolt and nipped up so now it sits at an angle. Its now about 1.5" clear at the top.

Seat bases painted. This is the same paint i used on the outside. May as well use it

Below link is some of the issues i have had with leaks. Still not got them all and a few will no doubt pop up but i will update as i get them

Leaks

So how did the van work as a camper and did i get away. Bellow is sitting at the ferry port at Hull waiting to get in the boat

As i camper for two it worked well but using things like folding the bed out and back in did not flow so looking to change a few things

The old bus made it down to Lake Como Italy

The little awning was a great help. Extra room for things like feeding the dog and handy for sitting either out the sun or just out in the warm evenings. This one is 8'x8' what is plenty room for two seats, table and still room for the dod to lay down.

The old bus made it up a mountain pass crossing through Switzerland.

Random lake in Switzerland

Mosel Valley in Germany

And it even brought us home again

So yes as i say, some things just did not flow. The van did well and is a keeper so i am looking to do a refit for next year. Not a lot just move the bed to over the back doors but build one that slides out and get a kitchen pod what will be neater and take up less room. Also the side overhead lockers. Handy but the corners hurt when you nut them so they are going and built one large one over the back but test the height when getting up from the sofa bed first. I will do an update here when i am finished it but that will not be till around April next year.
